Welcome to Derby City Counseling located in Louisville, Kentucky. I’m glad you’re here. Whether you’re new to the world of therapy or you’re a seasoned veteran, my hope is that Derby City Counseling can be a home and safe haven for you. It’s very common to feel a little hesitant about therapy. That's totally understandable and you're not alone in that feeling. As a therapist, one of my primary goals is to break the negative stigma that surrounds going to therapy, because as human beings, sometimes we need a little help. Let's race toward a better you!
Meet Dillon
Hi, I’m Dillon. I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200). My specialty areas include: Depression, Anxiety, LGBTQ issues, College students, Teenagers, Adults.
My style of therapy is considered laid back and conversational. I try to incorporate humor into my practice as I believe therapy doesn’t have to be serious all the time. I use modern and evidence-based therapeutic techniques (such as CBT and DBT) that are individualized toward my clients needs. If you’re trying to get back on track and if you enjoy working toward positive behavior change, I think we'd be a good fit.
As a therapist, I care deeply about helping underserved, underrepresented and marginalized communities, and I believe that everyone should have access to affordable and quality mental healthcare. I also support organizations that fight social injustice, systemic racism, and oppression. I consider myself to be a progressive person by nature, but I also think it’s my duty not only as a therapist but as a person to educate myself on new issues that arise in society.
When I’m not in session, you can find me playing volleyball, being outdoors, listening to Taylor Swift, or binge watching my favorite Netflix shows (Schitt’s Creek is usually on repeat).
